(December 2, 2017) The Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (MFLF), in conjunction with the Office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (ONCB), hosted the opening ceremony for the “Anti-Drug Youth Network Furthering Royal Initiative” course at the Hall of Opium, Golden Triangle Park, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province. The event was presided over by ONCB Secretary-General Sirinya Sitthichai, who was welcomed by the CEO of MFLF, M.L. Dispanadda Diskul.

The Anti-Drug Youth Network course is an ongoing joint project between MFLF and ONCB. ONCB will recruit 12 groups of 60 youth representatives from around the country to undergo training at the Hall of Opium in the Golden Triangle Park and the Doi Tung Development Project over the coming months. Participants are made aware of the dangers of narcotic drugs, the work principles of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, in what is now known as the Mae Fah Luang Model, as well as the “Understand, Access, Develop” principle of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX. This is done through hands-on experiences and activities in the field, where participants follow the Mae Fah Luang Model which they can then creatively adapt and replicate later in their own home regions.
