M.R. Disnadda Diskul, Chairman of the MFLF, recently welcomed Dr. Win Myat Aye Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of Myanmar who led a group on a study visit to Doi Tung Development Project in Chiang Rai. He took particular interest in the macadamia plantation and Arabica coffee, Doi Tung’s economic crops, and also visited the Cottage Industries Centre and Outlet that creates a sustainable livelihood for local villagers.
In 2013, the MFLF, together with UNHCR, embarked on a profiling project of the displaced people in nine temporary camps along the Thai-Myanmar border in Tak, Mae Hong Son and Kanchanaburi provinces to help them transition back into society when they are ready to return home.
