Thailand Hosts the International Conference on Alternative Development 2 (ICAD2)

ICAD2 convened policy makers, experts, practitioners, members of international organizations, and civil societies from around the world to Thailand

on 19-24 November 2015.

The International Seminar Workshop on the Implementation of United Nations Guiding Principles on Alternative Development (UNGPs on AD) provided a platform for participants to connect and actively participate through workshops and study visits to  internationally recognized Thai royal initiated alternative development projects in Thailand and Myanmar.

Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha presided over the opening of the ICAD2. The study visits were followed by discussions on the application of alternative development practices in different contexts and on the advance of UNGP on AD towards practical application and integrating alternative development into larger national and international development plans in alignment with the Post-2015 SDG global agenda.
