Mom Rajawongse Disnadda Diskul, chairman of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage, gave a talk on the topic “The Media’s Role in Sustaining the Royal Initiatives of King Rama 9” at the ceremony to mark the 62nd anniversary of the Thai Journalist Association on Reporters Day, 5 March 2017.

“The media should expose facts of social disparity between the rich and poor, and stimulate joint efforts to solve the problems in a comprehensive and sustained fashion. This is a way of preserving the royal initiatives of King Rama 9 who wished for his people to survive with equality and sustainability.

“If the media can create an awareness among the Thai people of this problem with conviction and sincerity, it would greatly benefit the country, and support the development of communities, society and the nation in the way the King Rama 9 had always ‘led’ us to do.”
