“Cultivate Land, Cultivate People”

maefahluangbook

Cultivate Land, Cultivate People” is one of the set of “The Mae Fah Luang Development Manual” series, written from our 25 years of experience in poverty alleviation. As our development approach is people-centric, the Mae Fah Luang’s approach on reforestation highly emphasizes on the well-being of the people in the area. If the people are in hunger, the forest is in danger. Only when the people are able to survive, the forest can thrive.

“Cultivate Land, Cultivate People” set consists of 4 books; “The Principle of Cultivate Land, Cultivate People”, “Forest Survey”, “Sugar Palm Planting in Economic Forest” and “Rattan Planting in Economic Forest”. The Principle of Cultivate Land, Cultivate People emphasizes on the principles, approaches and important basis of sustainable reforestation. Forest Survey covers the process and techniques of the survey which emphasizes on community participation. Both Sugar Palm and Rattan Planting in Economic Forest stress on the benefit and planting process ranging from seed preparation to taking care of the plants to set them as the examples of the trees in the economic forest, a sustainable source of income for the community and one of the key success to sustainable reforestation.
